3 Reasons to Ditch the iPod and Get a DJ

1. Crown Control

You need someone who is the main source of information for the night. The DJ is the middle man between your special day and making sure everyone in attendance is on the same page. Sure, you could have a friend or cousin make announcements, but what happens when they get ready to talk and get stage fright? Or worse, you buy a cheap mic to plug into the back of your Boombox and all you hear is static!  A DJ will have all of the proper equipment to relay the message clearly while doing so  in a fun and proper manner.

2. Timing

It is one of the most important parts of a DJ's job. We work along side your coordinators to make sure things are moving along as planned. Now, having that said things can change. The DJ might need to extend cocktail hour with music if the bride and groom are taking extra time with pictures. To just have just an Ipod playing could put you in a jam if you only prepared for a certain amount of time. One of the worst things that can happen is for an aspect of your wedding to take longer than planned, and run over time you have contracted with your photographer. A DJ can get everyones attention and keep  wedding moving right along!

3. Reading the Crowd

Sure, it seems like a no brainier to just play songs that everyone likes, right? Well its not the simple. At a wedding, you most likely have many different age groups with many different tastes in music. Its the DJ's job to recognize when a crowd is into or not into a song and make the appropriate song selection change. Have you ever been to a party dancing to the Cha Cha Slide and a slow song comes on. Talk about a buzz kill! You want a DJ to know when to play the whole song and when to cut in the next one.
